Erepublik adalah game yang gw pernah sukaaaa banget but sekarang gw benciiiii banget. A game that dominated late 2009-early 2010 of my life. The longest time i am obsessed with something...

Game yang gw seneng sebelum game ini adalah Travian and i failed so much at it. Not only do i fail, i waste a lot of time. Jadinya i was looking for a game yang genrenya sama tapi nggak terlalu susah. Genre tentang empire2 politik2 perang2 etc.
Kebetulan sih ngeliat game ini waktu liat2 walkthrough untuk travian di forumnya.
Other than dibilangin cuman perlu sejam sehari untuk main, dibilangin lagi ada WORLD WAR in which Indonesia and allies hampir berhasil menguasai seluruh benua Amerika Utara. I was naturally like "woooo!" Indonesia? A powerful country with a noble history? Me becoming a citizen? FUCK YES! Okay, so i joined.

At first, memang beneran main cuman sejam sehari tapi each day makin lama makin nambah waktunya. Looking at Spain eliminated, aku agak kasian dan jadi sympathizer of F/E. Tapi as soon as territory Indonesia di USA dihancam, aku langsung anti F/E!
Nah, mulai deh aku bikin2 artikel trolling dan tricking. Setiap artikel gw liatin votenya nambah berjam2 -_-
And from there on, I became very active. And this all carried on to school time!

2 months of playing the game, I decided to become part of the congress and ran in Eastern Cape. I won. From then, I had to attend IRC meetings etc which doubled my play time. An up side is that I started to get along with orang Indo laen dan mulai berbicara dengan Bahasa Indonesia :)).
The next months aku mulai jadi politician, pernah jadi deputy mofa dan kongres 3 kali. I was banned 3 times for multiple accounting but i never stopped. I was too addicted. Wars everywhere, history in the making, trolling articles.... Kekaisaran Indonesia is falling and i tried my hardest to rez it. But in vain.
Recently, I joined a PTO group with the aim of destroying Australia. That trippled my game time to nearly 24 hours.
Did i mention that i still had school?
GPA turun DRASTIS from 8th grade to 9th grade 1st semester.
And that's exactly why i hate it so much.
IT RUINED MY LIFE.
Next semester, I started compromising. Bad idea, huh?
Compromise doesn't solve problems, commitment does.

Only in this summer did i notice that i need to stop. My future itu lebih penting dari some game yang at best bisa bikin temporary satisfaction dan fake glory. I'd rather invest my time to do fruitful things like latihan sax, belajar, baca buku, all the things that i used to do sebelum i played erep.

My advice you y'all: Don't play this game unless you have mastered self-control.

Oh iya, hampir lupa:
On my first post kan aku bilang bahwa aku ketinggalan jaman banget karena sampe skarang belom bikin blog while the other kids udah stop almost a year ago. You wanna know why? You got it! EREPUBLIK.
